OFK Petrovac host FK Žalgiris on 9 July 2026 in the first leg of a UEFA Europa Conference League first qualifying round tie at Gradski Stadion in Podgorica, with the return leg in Vilnius on 16 July. For Petrovac, this is their first European football in 17 years, earned by finishing third in the 2025/26 Montenegrin league, whereas for Žalgiris it is another continental qualifier to navigate with a squad worth considerably more than what Petrovac can field.
Zdravko Dragićević and Andrius Skerla have never faced each other, so there is no tactical history to draw on. Dragićević knows the club from his playing days there, Skerla arrives with no prior connection to it. Skerla took charge at Žalgiris in April 2026 and works alongside assistants Rolandas Džiaukštas and Nerijus Mačiulis.

Petrovac's recent results tell a fairly coherent story: a 0-0 friendly against Mornar Bar, 1-1 draws against Dečić and Budućnost and the occasional 1-3 or 0-1 defeat. Žalgiris have been more erratic, swinging between a 3-0 win over Šiauliai FA, a goalless draw against Džiugas Telšiai and a 0-3 loss to Banga.
Petrovac are without midfielder Danilo Bakić, who has been out since August 2025 with a cruciate ligament injury, though no other significant absences have been reported for either squad. Goalkeeper Marko Kordić or Suad Licina will likely start in goal for Dragićević's side, while Žalgiris carry a squad market value of around 7.4 million euros with roughly half their players foreign born.
Savo Arambašić and Nemanja Belaković lead the line, with Adnan Bašić and Vladan Kordić in midfield and Marko Roganović anchoring the defence. The clubs have never met, which strips away any tactical template but Žalgiris will look to circulate the ball and create openings through Grigore Turda, Klaudijus Upstas, Yuri Kendysh and Saba Mamatsashvili. The midfield battle is the hinge: if Žalgiris can move Petrovac around and find pockets to exploit, they have the personnel to do damage. If Petrovac can disrupt that and stay compact, keeping it goalless at half time gives them a platform.

Set pieces are probably Petrovac's clearest route to goal, given their effectiveness at dead balls both defensively and as an attacking outlet and Žalgiris will want to avoid conceding them. One set piece or counter attack is all it takes and Petrovac have shown they can manufacture both, with the travel factor and the atmosphere of their first home European night in 17 years adding further weight on a visiting side that has already shipped three without reply this month.
Petrovac 1-0 Žalgiris. The squad value gap is real but Petrovac's defensive organisation and dead ball threat give them a genuine route to the result and this being their first European match at home in 17 years counts for something. Žalgiris's 0-3 loss to Banga is a reminder that their away form is not bulletproof.
