Falkirk welcome Dundee to Falkirk Stadium on 10 October 2026 for Scottish Premiership matchweek 8. The hosts sit 11th with six points from seven games since promotion and need a positive result to build some stability at this level, whereas Dundee, fourth with ten points, are trying to convert into something more consistent despite a bruising injury list and Dundee manager Steven Pressley brings added baggage: his side have never won a league game at this venue.
John McGlynn has managed Falkirk since May 2022 while Pressley took the Dundee job in June 2025, so their direct encounters are still limited. McGlynn's compact structure against Pressley's high tempo press should make for a readable contest even if the managerial rivalry is relatively young.

Falkirk's last five reads D W D L L. The 2-1 win over Hearts on 15 September was the highlight, sandwiched between 1-1 draws with St Johnstone and Dundee United while they continue finding their feet in the division. Dundee's sequence is W L D L W, with a 2-1 win over Motherwell on 19 September. The problem is what sits in between: defeats to Hearts and a draw with St Johnstone that point to inconsistency, much of it driven by injuries.
Falkirk are without Gardner, Yeats, Laidlaw and Nesbitt, whereas Dundee's situation is considerably worse, with Murray, Robertson and Moorhouse all out long term with ACL injuries while Wales and Westley are both doubtful with ankle problems. Three ACL casualties in one squad while managing a pair of fitness doubts is a rough deal and Pressley has been working the free agent market while asking his remaining forwards to share the load.
McGlynn runs a 4-2-3-1 built on structure and quick transitions, with Brad Spencer increasingly central as the midfield anchor in the absence of four first team players and Henderson solid in defence. Pressley's 4-4-2 is designed to press high and hard but three ACL absences blunt the intensity he wants. Fink leads the line and Westley too if he passes his fitness check, though the thin squad limits Dundee's options going forward. The battle between Spencer's positional discipline and Dundee's attempts to build through the middle will probably decide how much of the game each side controls.
These sides have met three times recently and it has been tight every time: Falkirk won 1-0 in February 2026, Dundee levelled things with a 1-0 in December 2025 and Falkirk edged a 2-1 in October 2025. Falkirk have the better of recent meetings and Dundee have never won a league game at this ground.

Set pieces could matter more than usual given both squads' injury problems, with Falkirk's defensive shape and Henderson's aerial presence helping them cope with Dundee's deliveries while Dundee's thin squad limits their dead ball options and puts more pressure on Fink in open play.
A 1-1 draw. Falkirk's structure and home record should keep this controlled but Fink can manufacture a chance from limited service and potentially Westley adds to that if he passes fit, despite the three ACL losses that have blunted Dundee's attacking variety and a ground record that offers no encouragement. These two have made a habit of tight, narrow games.
