Leeds United welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Elland Road on 7 November 2026, with a 12:30 GMT kick off for Matchweek 10 of the Premier League. Separated by just one point in mid table (Leeds 12th on 11, Spurs 11th on 12), the gap in recent form is more revealing than the standings: Leeds haven't won in five league matches, while Tottenham arrive having won three on the bounce.
Farke and De Zerbi have never met in a competitive fixture, which makes the head to head record essentially irrelevant. The last meeting between these clubs ended 1-1 in May of last season, with Calvert-Lewin converting a penalty to rescue a point for Leeds. Before that, Tottenham had won three consecutive games at Elland Road, the kind of run that tends to weigh on home sides even if nobody says it out loud.

Leeds have been stuck in a rut, drawing 0-0 with Sunderland and losing 0-2 at Bournemouth in their two most recent outings. Two wins from nine is the shape of a team that can't quite lose convincingly or win convincingly, which is a particular kind of frustration. Tottenham, by contrast, have found genuine rhythm under De Zerbi over the last month, winning three on the bounce.
Farke, in his third full season at the club after taking over in July 2023, is dealing with an injury list that covers almost every option he has in attack. Calvert-Lewin is doubtful with a foot bruise, Okafor has an adductor concern, Stach is a doubt with a broken toe and Joseph is out long term with a knee injury, which makes constructing anything coherent up front very difficult.
De Zerbi took over in March 2026 after Tudor's interim spell and his situation is barely better. Simons and Odobert are both out with knee problems and Bentancur is suspended. Losing Bentancur hurts most of all, since he has been central to how Spurs move the ball through midfield.
Leeds line up in a 3-4-2-1, with Ampadu anchoring and Trafford in excellent form in goal. The problem is that the attack depends heavily on Calvert-Lewin, who has scored seven times in his last seven home games. If he is unavailable or barely fit, the game plan shifts from 'try to win' to 'try not to lose,' which isn't necessarily wrong at Elland Road but does narrow the range of possible outcomes considerably.
Operating in a 4-2-3-1, Spurs press high and De Zerbi has got them moving with greater consistency over the last month. The absence of Simons, Odobert and Bentancur costs them their primary chance creator, their main wide threat and the midfielder who sets the tempo through the middle. Van de Ven anchors the defence, Tonali carries the ball from deep and Kudus is the likeliest scorer, so the Ampadu-Tonali duel in the centre is the one to watch for how much either side can build anything coherent. There is also something worth noting about Tottenham's recent wins: they have come against sides that left space in behind and Farke almost certainly won't. That changes the equation.

Dead balls are probably the most likely source of chances here, with both attacks this depleted. Leeds are well organised defensively from set pieces and Tottenham have the aerial quality to threaten at the other end, so the 12:30 GMT kick off could well be decided by one.
0-0. It is hard to see where the goals come from. Leeds, without Joseph and with Calvert-Lewin, Okafor and Stach all doubtful, don't have enough bodies in attack to consistently threaten a Spurs defence anchored by Van de Ven. Tottenham, stripped of Simons, Odobert and Bentancur, don't have the width or the midfield carry to unpick a 3-4-2-1 sitting in a low block. Expect Ampadu and whoever replaces Bentancur to cancel each other out in a congested centre, with neither side able to create through the middle and a goalless draw the most likely outcome given the injury crises on both sides.
