Mirassol vs Vitória Prediction: Relegation Battle Set for Tense São Paulo Showdown

Mirassol host Vitória at the Estádio Municipal de Mirassol on 13 September 2026 in a Matchday 27 fixture with four points and a place in the relegation reckoning between them. Sitting 16th with 28 points from 26 games, Mirassol need this one badly, whereas Vitória, 11th on 32 points, are not that far clear of the same trouble.

There is little direct head-to-head data between Rafael Guanaes and Jair Ventura worth citing. Vitória's list is longer still: Emmanuel Martinez (thigh), Gabriel Baralhas (bone), Camutanga (foot fracture), Anderson Pato (meniscus), Dudu (spine/vertebral), Edu Ribeiro (Achilles) and Ruben Ismael are all out. Losing Camutanga and Baralhas strips out a lot of their defensive and midfield structure and Ventura may have to patch together a centre back pairing without either of his preferred options.

Guanaes has built a possession based home setup around full back involvement and controlled build up, so with Joao Victor and Denilson suspended, Reinaldo carries more responsibility than usual, covering the spaces left by that pair while still pushing forward to drive Mirassol up the pitch. Alesson and Bruno Santos are the main creative outlets, with the plan built around half space combinations that the depleted visitors will struggle to cover.

With Camutanga and Baralhas both absent, the space in behind Vitória's makeshift centre backs as they step out to press looks like the most obvious way in for Mirassol. Matheuzinho can carry from deep and Erick is quick enough to punish any gaps, so Mirassol's reshuffled central defence will need to track runners carefully on the counter. Whether Reinaldo's overlapping runs can get the better of Rene's tracking duties is one of the more interesting individual contests, as is whether Bruno Santos can win second balls and keep Mirassol on the front foot against a midfield missing Baralhas. If Mirassol get their transitions right and Alesson gets half a yard in a good position, they can make this very uncomfortable for a Vitória side held together with tape at the moment.

Vitória hold the edge in recent meetings, winning three of the last six to Mirassol's one with two draws and their 1-0 win in March 2026 and 2-0 success in November 2025 leave Mirassol with a difficult recent record to stare down on their own ground.

Both squads are disrupted enough that set pieces could easily swing this one. Mirassol will look to generate second phase chances from their own corners and free kicks and with neither side carrying much margin for error, a goal from a dead ball situation could easily be the difference between three points and nothing.

Mirassol 2-1 Vitória. The home side's possession control and Reinaldo's influence should generate enough chances despite the suspended pair and Vitória's patched together centre backs will struggle to handle movement in the channels. Matheuzinho and Erick can hurt them on the break and Mirassol cannot afford to switch off once they go ahead. Most likely, Mirassol go two goals up and force Vitória to chase the game, with Alesson or Bruno Santos finding something late to settle it.
