The midfield battle is probably the one that decides this: Ledson and Kasumu should see more of the ball than Reeves and Nelson and out wide, Harness and Fernandes will test how Sessegnon and Seddon deal with direct runners. Stockley's aerial presence is the obvious danger at set pieces but Huddersfield's numerical advantage in defence should keep him fairly quiet in open play.
The sides met twice in League One last season, Huddersfield winning the final meeting 4-0 in May 2026 while the earlier fixture ended 3-3, giving the hosts a 7-3 aggregate across two meetings. Two games is a thin sample, admittedly but a 4-0 at this level is not a scoreline you stumble into by accident.
The Accu Stadium surface tends to suit possession oriented football, which should help Huddersfield keep the ball and stop Wimbledon building from deep. Stockley poses an aerial threat at corners and free kicks, so late news on Wallace and Kane will matter in terms of how much aerial cover Drury can call on from the bench.
