ELO head-to-head

How PSV and Feyenoord compare on rating, form and history.

Eredivisie Round 10 on 25 October 2026 pits PSV Eindhoven against Feyenoord in the most consequential domestic fixture of the season so far. PSV sit third with 19 points from nine matches while Feyenoord lead the table unbeaten on 23 and both clubs are also navigating the Champions League group phase, adding a fatigue dimension to an already charged afternoon at Philips Stadion.

Peter Bosz has been at PSV since July 2023 and has the better of Feyenoord in recent meetings, whereas Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who took charge at Feyenoord on 1 July 2026 after replacing Robin van Persie, has built a possession based 4-2-3-1 that has produced seven wins from nine league games. Direct head to head history between the two coaches in this fixture is thin, so the more interesting question is how Bosz's high pressing system holds up against van Bronckhorst's patient, structured build up.

PSV arrive having gone W-L-L-W-L in their last five across all competitions, beating ADO Den Haag 2-1 on 17 October before falling 1-0 to Porto in the Champions League three days later. Feyenoord's run reads L-W-W-W-W, capped by a 4-3 win at Telstar on 17 October and a 1-0 Champions League win over Real Betis on 21 October and their unbeaten league record gives van Bronckhorst no reason to change anything.

PSV are without Jerdy Schouten (ACL, out until May 2027), Alassane Pléa (post surgery, back in January), Sven Mijnans (suspended after his red card against ADO), Sam Lammers, Paul Wanner and Adamo Nagalo, with Mauro Júnior expected to captain the side in Schouten's place. Feyenoord are missing Thomas Beelen (broken leg), Jordan Bos (knee surgery, back in January), Gijs Smal (ankle), Bart Nieuwkoop, Reiss Nelson and Shaqueel van Persie, meaning both defences will be fielding names that wouldn't make the starting XI in a fully fit week.

Without Schouten anchoring the midfield, PSV's defensive screen becomes noticeably thinner. Guus Til carries more responsibility going forward while Mauro Júnior manages the structural side and Sergiño Dest's overlapping runs from right back will test Feyenoord's left flank, with Ricardo Pepi available from injury though his minutes will probably be managed.

With Beelen and Bos both out, the extra defensive weight falls on Gjivai Zechiël to screen while still contributing going forward. Anis Hadj Moussa is the player to watch on the wing while Nacho Ferri, their top scorer, is the target for balls in behind and Luciano Valente in the number ten role will look to find the spaces behind PSV's high line. The matchup that will probably decide this is Til versus Zechiël in midfield: whoever controls it sets the tempo and if Zechiël can screen effectively while still contributing offensively, Feyenoord will be in good shape.

PSV have won the last five meetings, including a 3-0 home win in February 2026, whereas Feyenoord haven't won at Philips Stadion in any of the last seven meetings, even if their league position suggests they are the stronger side right now.

The midweek Champions League fixtures add a recovery dimension that may show in the second half, particularly if either side concedes early and has to chase the game. PSV will look to Pepi and Til from wide deliveries, which is the most credible route to a first goal given how stretched both back lines are likely to be.

Expect a 1-1 draw. PSV's home record against Feyenoord and the pressing intensity Bosz tends to generate point toward the hosts getting on the board first. But the volume of absences on both sides will blunt attacking fluency and Ferri running in behind a high PSV line is the most realistic route to an equaliser once the game opens up in the second half. A point each keeps the title race tight going into Round 11.
